kaBALL NYC

Last night was the third kaBALL in NYC. A workshop for musicians to try out new material in front of an invited audience. The idea is to perform song that haven't been performed in front of an audience to test them out. I performed three new songs; Surf For A Remedy, Crumbs and Divided By Zero, which (if all goes to plan) should all make it onto the first EP due out in July.

Nakatomi Plaza performed an 'almost' unplugged set that I have to say was so good that I have become a huge fan. I'm hoping that they release an album of their acoustic tracks - their lyrics and melodies are really impressive. This acoustic set was really great because Oscar's 'punk' vocals and Al's 'rock' vocals are so different and contrasting against the instumentation they used. Loved it!!!

Nathan Leigh Jones flew in from Australia and performed three very catchy pop tunes. This guy has a lot of energy and I'm sure he'll be doing some more gigs while he's in the US.

Soren Anders gave us a taste of three songs from his upcoming EP. If you haven't heard Soren's solo work take a trek over to MySpace where you can listen to a track of his recent work.

Carolyn Eufrasio - the Harlem diva sang three orginal songs that she is going to release later this year. She is performing at Shrine on April 9 at 8pm - an evening you really shouldn't miss!!

Molly Bea gave us a taste of three songs from her EP that will be release in June.

Fuzzy Sanchez perfomed three songs on the piano with some entertaining stories about each one!! :)
